Just learned that the Compose key supports custom sequences. 😮
For context, the Compose key makes it easier to type Unicode characters like ©.
i.e. COMPOSE o c → ©
On (likely most Linux distros) one can make an ~/.XCompose file with custom sequences:
i.e. <Multi_key> <m> <r> <e> : "[MRE](https://stackoverflow.com/help/minimal-reproducible-example)"
Now, when I hit COMPOSE m r e, it types the associated text.
There are many ways to do this kind of thing, but I just liked this solution and thought it was worth sharing.
